As we near the end of the year, everyone starts thinking about the changes they want to make in the upcoming year to get healthy, destress, exercise, read more, learn a skill, etc. I spend a lot of time talking about how AI can help educators and students, but another thing AI does really well is provide ideas and suggestions for your personal life! Whether you are looking for a healthy meal idea, book suggestions, a workout routine, or meditation strategies...AI can give you a great starting point.
Check out these prompt suggestions and feel free to adjust as needed. You can use whatever AI chatbot you prefer or you can mix and match to see which one provides better results. And because I also want to make my life easier during this hectic week before Christmas...I asked AI to come up with prompts for these categories!
Body
Give me a healthy one-pan meal idea that can be prepped and cooked in 30 minutes using these ingredients [list ingredients] and is 350 calories or less per serving.
Design a 4-week walking plan that builds from 10 to 30 minutes with rest days and stretch cues.
Build a sleep consistency plan that helps me shift bedtime 15 minutes earlier each week for a month.
Mind
I have a 20-minute window after school. Give me a quick de-stress plan I can do in my classroom or car.
Give me five cognitive reframing prompts to use when I’m catastrophizing, with examples of healthy alternatives.
Build a minimal phone notification plan with Focus modes for work, home, and sleep. Specify which apps are allowed.
Home
Build a one-page home organization plan for high-clutter spots (entryway, mail, kitchen counter) with weekly micro-maintenance.
Make a donation/declutter plan for one closet in two sessions, including a keep/toss criteria checklist.
Design a shared household command center with calendar, menu, chores, and a 10-minute Friday reset.
Money
Create a 10-meal rotation that’s budget-friendly, uses overlapping ingredients, and minimizes waste.
Build a “no‑spend weekday” plan with free activity ideas and a checklist to prep on Sundays.
Turn my recurring subscriptions into a review plan: categorize, compare alternatives, and suggest cuts.
People
Help me set a weekly “connection hour” with a rotating list of people and quick message templates.
Design a monthly mini‑date plan with my partner with at‑home options and under-$20 ideas.
Build a tradition starter kit for a small family ritual we can do weekly in 15 minutes.
Joy
I want to read more for joy. Make a 12-book, year-long reading plan based on [genres/authors I like] with monthly check-ins.
Create a 6-week beginner learning path for a new skill I choose, with tiny daily tasks and weekly milestones.
Build a “micro‑adventures” list of 20 local, low‑cost activities I can do with my family in under 2 hours.
If one of these prompts made you pause and think...start there. Copy it, tweak it, add to it, and see what you get. AI isn't going to be your life coach, but it can be your life assistant!
