Newest Canva Launches!

Whenever Canva has a keynote address/launch party, you know there are going to be a TON of new features to sift through! Yesterday was one of those days. If you want to see everything they announced/released yesterday, you can check out their video and launch announcements.
There is definitely too much to cover in one post, so I will focus on a few of the changes that might stand out to you right away.
New Look & New Elements
The "Elements" tab is where you can find all of Canva's stock content - photos, graphics, stickers, video, audio, animations, tables, charts, frames, and more. That tab now has a new look and some brand new options to choose from!

As you can see, the two newest elements are Forms and 3D. Forms are a great way to make your Canva design interactive. You can make things like quizzes or quick checks for understanding for your students. Once you add one to a design, select it and then you have the option to edit the questions and the settings:

Once you are happy with your form, you will need to share the design. You can share it with specific people or make it available to anyone with the link - just be sure to give VIEWER access, not EDIT. Then once people start submitting the form, you can see the responses and even export them to a spreadsheet:

The other new element - 3D - is super fun to play with! Basically, it allows you to add a 3-dimensional object to your canvas and then rotate it in whatever way you want. So if I wanted to add a 3D lightbulb to this form design, I could search for a lightbulb in the 3D category, select one, and insert it into my design. Then I can click and drag on the 3D rotation icon in the center to rotate it the way I want!

New Template Style - Email
If you've ever wanted to send a newsletter-style email with pictures and links embedded...this is the design/template for you!

As with all Canva designs, you can start with any template you'd like or start from scratch. You can also use Canva's AI tool to describe what you want. Here is the result when I asked for a "monthly library newsletter for Londonderry High School":

You can then edit the design the same way you would anything else in Canva (note that it won't work to embed videos or forms). When you are ready to actually send your email, just click the Share button and choose Gmail. You will then be asked to connect your Google account. Once that is done, you can click the "Export to Gmail" button and your entire design will show up inside of a draft email!

One quick note - this is not currently available for students to use, but teachers and administrators can use it for sending out newsletters to students, staff, or families!
Take some time to explore these new options and feel free to dive even deeper into the other new features!
